CHAPTER 4 ENEMY’S NARROW ROADS

No one in their right mind would offend the Big Boss’s favorite person.

Whether they like it or not, Elijah is not their opponent or someone they could pressure into a heated interview. He was simply a hazard zone for measly reporters like them who depend on hot scopes for a living.

He was a big warning sign for measly people like them, so the only thing they can do is avoid him and the big boss's anger.

If he said there’s none, then there’s no scope for them.

Elijah left them standing by the building’s entrance and drove off. From up in the clinic of the building, the man from before that Elijah called Ion was staring at his speeding car leaving.

Elijah arrived at his flat at once and washed up before lying on his bed. He was already exhausted, a lot of things happened on the first day he arrived in the country, and now everyone saw their accidental kiss.

He ran his finger through his hair and grunted, how could he face people now when the first thing they would think of was the accidental kiss between them?

If it wasn’t for his brother, people would be pressuring him to talk by now.

RING RING RING

Glancing at his phone he threw it beside the pillow, he saw a familiar number calling him.

“Hello? Elijah Callahan speaking,” he answered.

“You don’t have to be so formal with me. I heard about what happened, are you okay?” The person’s voice was deep and masculine, one that would make any girl’s underwear fall. Luckily, Elijah had on his brief, or else, he would have been falling head over heels for the man’s sexy voice.

“Archer, what should I do?~” he whined like a child, Archer Valerian is his long-time best friend, no matter what happens, he can always count on him and he always has his back.

Archer is a well-known engineer of the country, a world-class most sought-after bachelor and engineer at that.

“Well, your luck ran out the moment you got off the plane, the first you’d meet would be your ex-boyfriend, I sure hope I don’t get your misfortunes.” Archer teased, despite Elijah being gay, Archer did not hate him nor was he disgusted, he was a supportive friend and always made sure he was alright by checking on him once in a while.

“Let’s have a drink, are you free? I want to get drunk and maybe I will forget about what just happened this morning.”

“i***t, even if you drink till you can no longer breathe, you will still remember what happened the day after that plus suffer from a hangover.” Archer scoffed at him and he could hear from the background noise that Archer must have been signing some documents with the sound of paper rustling.

“I don’t care~ I just want to get drunk, that damned ice block! I hope he trips over and hits his head!”

“Shouldn’t you be thankful he helped you out, if he hadn’t pulled you, you must've been at the hospital by now and miss a lot of things at work.”

“Wait a minute? Whose side are you exactly on?”

“My side, stop sulking, hayst fine, once I am done here, I will pick you up at the subway by 7.”

“Alright alright, my brother would flip if I walked around without a sitter.” Before coming over to the country, his brother had a deal with him that he should be with someone or else he would force him to stay at his place, which is the last thing he wants to happen.

It was barely 2 pm and he had yet to eat his lunch. Elijah made some quick meals before taking a nap, he made sure to put on the alarm 30 minutes before 7 and quickly slept like a baby.

The jet lag he felt took over him so it was pretty convenient when he forgot about Ion at once.

A few hours later, Elijah woke up before the alarm sounded and he had a quick scroll through his social media accounts before preparing.

Currently, the world is going crazy over him and Ion’s kiss, people even started making fan clubs and creating scenarios, some people could not help themself but create memes and GIFs over the clip of their accidental kiss.

Countless tweets and mentions flooded his social media account that he could only shake his head at how creative a human mind is to even dare think that it was an intentional kiss.

BEEP BEEP

He was baffled by the loud sound of a car horn, glancing at the car. It was a beautiful sleek car, a 2017 Ford GT car in the shade of slightly matte grey. Every part of the car was gorgeous.

“What are you looking at? Get in! Or else I will leave you.” The windows rolled down and before he was a handsome Archer Valerian, wearing a button-down white shirt, sleek slacks, and his usual rectangular glasses. His hair was messy but it only adds up to how good the man looked.

Archer grinned mischievously when the star-struck Elijah was wearing a simple long-sleeved shirt with slacks and a long black coat. He had a black mask on and a baseball cap.

Knowing that he is the talk of the country, he had to wear clothes that would cover up his features or else people would go crazy again.

The drive was long but it was fun as they talked about what had happened to their lives while they were on the road. Archer teased him countless times but Elijah knew better than to give Archer the satisfaction of being annoyed.

They soon arrived at the resto-bar at the farthest south of the city. It was their usual spot whenever Elijah wanted to unwind and get away from the world. It’s near the seashore and has a relaxing vibe.

He thought he finally escaped from the world's clutches, but he was soon proven wrong when the first thing he saw was Ion sitting by the terrace table with a man and a woman.

It seems that the quote is true, enemies have narrow roads and no matter what you do, fate will always bring you together. How f****d up can his day be?
