My hands became shaky at the sight of my mom standing just beside us. I struggled to make eye contact with her but I couldn't.
My heartbeat intensified, and I was filled with panic. I didn't realize my palms had become sweaty and how pale I looked.
"What are you both doing here?" She asked, her eyes still focused on our hands that we had long retracted from each other.
