Nikita quickly slipped into her black pencil skirt on Monday morning and looked at herself in the mirror. Her eyes were drawn and her face pale. She missed Kyle and she felt like absoloute hit. She didn’t even want breakfast. All she wanted was to drop Evie to school and get to work so she could finally talk to Kyle. He'd been ignoring her, and today she would not be deterred. The stabbing pain in her heart was a constant reminder of what he must be feeling. And the look in his eyes as he'd left...they'd reflected betrayal. Hopefully he'd had enough time to cool down and would hear her out. The slamming of the door to her condo signaled that Joel was back from third shift. Almost immediately, the door to her room flung open. She turned quickly to see little Mia run in and grab her legs.
