But a new feeling began to creep up on him as the minutes ticked by….something that oddly felt like weary resignation which eventually morphed into determination tinged with a hint of regret. It was odd. Why was Nikita feeling all this? Was she about to quit working for him? Or had she refused Dr. Raman’s job offer and regretted it? The thought left a bitter taste in his mouth. He did not want her to forego lucrative opportunities for herself only for him. But he knew Dr. Rahman couldn’t offer her what his company could.
