They wandered deeper into the darkness in silence for a few minutes until Nena glanced at Catherine who followed by her side. “So what were you saying back there when I was in the hex circle?”
Catherine waved her hand. “Oh, just a little something about calling forth demons to fulfill my wish to execute you.”
The color drained from Nena’s face. “E-execute me?”
Catherine’s eyes flickered to her and she flashed the trembling young woman a smile. “I did say I was going to perform the hex.”
“A few more seconds and I thought I was going to have to jump in to stop you,” Jack teased.
“Pay attention to the piping. Or do you not know where we’re going?” Catherine snapped.
“We’re going to the Underground,” he told her.
“That’s where those police caught that Corrupted, right?” Nena ask
