Saturday morning was spent buying food and alcohol for the many cocktails Shane and Michael envisaged were going to be consumed later that evening. They made up the spare beds and put out extra towels in case anyone wanted to stay over. There were briquettes, outdoor candles, and mosquito coils to procure, and even a second alcohol run for some champagne with which to celebrate. In the afternoon, Shane made three salads and three giant platters. He placed some mini-sausage rolls on a foil-lined tray ready to heat up, and had several boxes of finger food defrosting in the fridge.
