Shannon, without needing to be told where to find them, fetched the grooming supplies while Ty measured out a ration of oats for Holly, a treat for her hard work today. They talked while they worked, and he was careful to steer their conversation away from troubling topics. Once again, it didn’t take long for Shannon to set her worries aside. He’d always admired that about her—her ability to focus on the here and now without letting less pleasant things get in the way.
