Chapter 1: Free
A/N: Hello readers. This is an unedited story I wanted to throw out here to see what others think about it. Mind you, I am no pro, so any constructive pointers are welcome! :)
The chapters are also going to be quite short in comparison to what I usually write. (Even if I've only written one so far, haha.) Enjoy!
MxM/Yaoi/s***h - Loni and Rory Dash have been down a difficult road that hasn't stopped anyplace peaceful, until now. Nestled in a new home, they take to the streets with their parkour and freerunning. To bad for them, they don't know the dark secrets the quiet town holds. Soon enough they catch the attention of a couple dangerous men and the secrets are let loose. [WARNING: Drug-use/ Strong language/ Brocest/ Mature content.]
Chapter 1: Free.
I felt like I could fly... and that free feeling… I held on to that. Even if it was just for a second. I got to indulge in it for the moment.
Then my feet hit the ground and I rolled out the landing to the jump, letting my body sprawl out at the end instead of settling on my feet. My heart pounded in my chest and my lungs heaved heavily for air, it was a good feeling. Along with my muscles aching from the gratifying run from the house to our new found hideout. I enjoyed these moments where every part of my body had been strained to it's limit.
A loud thump startled me for only a second before I realized it was my little brother landing beside me. "Holy f**k! Hey Loni." He sat beside me, breathing just as I was.
"Yeah, holy fuck." I laughed along with Rory, the two of us had been running in the streets since we could remember. We'd lived many places across the country and now rested in a small town called Daccer Valley. It was nestled on a slope surrounded by massive green mountains where the town trickled down to the open ocean. One of the nicest place we've ever been so far, the only thing missing was a nice home to go to at night. That was something we'd never had luck with, home after home we'd been placed in was a bit worse than the one before.
"What are you thinking about?" Rory interrupted my thoughts.
"Nothing really…" I said halfheartedly, he didn't need to be dragged into my negative bubble.
"Lair." He was sure good at reading people, "You have that depressed, I'm thinking about the past look."
I laughed at his perfect study and picked at the few pieces of grass that dared to grow through the sand. "There's a lot to think about man… School years almost up…"
"Yeah, maybe I don't want to know what you're thinking… but… I hope you don't plan on leaving without me." I could feel his steel blue eyes watching me, but I didn't want to meet them. I honestly had next to no plan for the future.
"I've been talking around with some of the locals… Liz said that he'd have a bit of work for me in the next week." I studied the horizon. "You know I won't be able to live with you once I hit eighteen and that's not long after school ends." I could hear Rory's frustration, he knew those people wouldn't want to keep me around if the government wasn't sending them cheques every month.
"Well f**k them… I can help too… we can both work and get a place." My brother was good at looking for the positive in any situation.
"Yeah and have them hounding our ass's to get you back under some parental guardianship?" I flung some of the grass over to him. "Besides it would be too long before I would be able to get that… gotta have a steady job and a place to stay. It's only one year. I won't go nowhere, I'll be homeless til' yeah break out." I gave a small laugh and looked to the ocean again, "I like it here Rory… maybe it was meant to be... turning eighteen here wouldn't be so bad."
"At least you're not leaving me." I couldn't help but look at his gleaming face, he was so adorable. His light sandy blonde hair was getting long, growing past his ears. I really hoped it was meant to be, living here and starting our own life. One without so much hate, abuse and uncertainty.
"Just make sure you don't get kicked out and moved, dummy." He gave me a small smile and nod in agreement. We sat in silence for the next little while, watching as the sun started to dip behind the horizon.
"Hey." Rory broke the quiet moment, "Olivia is supposed to be having a party tonight, wanna go check it out before we head home?"
It didn't take much convincing for me to agree, free booze I'm there. "Yeah man, race?" It didn't take much for Rory to agree before he was running for the wall, jumping up to grab the railing above. I gave a smile as he looked back to see if I'd made a move yet and sprinted after him.
