Ryker’s POV
“Milky!”
Claire didn’t think we’d go home to see her parents. When she entered the garden, she immediately noticed the cat and went straight over to pat it. Heiji was smiling at her, but inside I was cringing and ready to attack him till he bled from his nose and lips.
“Claire!” Instantly, Heiji came over.
Even though he expected an embrace from Claire, he was surprised when I grasped his shoulder and pulled him away. “Back off…”
Heiji smiled but said nothing. “Claire!” Heiji and I turned when Claire’s parents came out of the house.
Her parents immediately hugged Claire, and I did the same. “Your arrivals are perfectly right. I made a delicious dinner,” my in-laws said.
“Really? You must have missed me!” Claire giggled as her parents walked together.
