Bane of my existence

October 7, 1996 was a day Sky waters, would never want to recall for it was the day she had lost her best friend and husband Edward or Ed as she liked to call him. Twenty four years later, the memory of that day was still etched in her mind and she vividly remembered all the details like it was yesterday. she was in her last month of pregnancy which was due in about 2 weeks , but the baby couldn't have come at a worse time, for their pack, was at war with another pack from South America , the bloodhounds. The bloodhounds was a ruthless pack with an even more ruthless Alpha , Bane, whose thirst for power and expansion knew no bounds. After killing most of the alphas of the other packs and taking over their territory he'd set his eyes upon New York where Ed was the alpha . The moment Sky heard about the looming war she had an uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach which she couldn't shake off, but her mate Ed told her it was going to be okay, and that she must have faith. Although she knew Ed was one of the strongest Alpha in the world she couldn't help but feel like she , his mate was his only weakness. Bane on the other hand had yet to find his mate and therefore had nothing that his enemies could hold as a liability for him That day Ed kissed her for what was to be their last kiss. Sky hated the feeling of feeling helpless as she couldn't help her mate with the war. Bane and his pack attacked their homes killing most of them in their way sparing no one not even babies. Sky wanted to die along with her husband but she knew she had to survive for her child, their baby, so she ran as fast as her legs could carry, doing everything to mask her scent along the way, that's when she'd met Joe. Joe was human and knew nothing about this whole other world that existed where werewolves and vampires were not just something you'd find only in books or distant legends, but they were all true. Joe had helped Sky hide in his home and even helped her deliver the baby. Sky wanted nothing but to protect her daughter Luna ,from the power hungry alpha Bane, and what better way than to hide her true existence, her identity and live as human. Joe knew all about that but he accepted her anyway. Luna didn't know about her real identity, her phasing was controlled by a potion that only Sky knew how to concoct. Sky looked at her daughter Luna who was soon going to turn 24 but had no idea who she really was. She had her father's deep piercing blue eyes and her mother’s silver grey hair. She was beautiful. She dreaded the day her daughter would find out the truth about her identity. The day would dawn upon them soon she knew. So she'd been giving her more and more of her concoctions and Luna had begun to become suspicious. “The day will come when I'll have to tell her. Soon. But not today. let her just be my Luna.” As Sky was sitting there on the porch looking and her daughter, her train of thoughts were interrupted by Joe's voice. “Hey there beautiful, what are you thinking?”
