Rose’s POV
Over two days I work on making Penny’s birthday cake as beautiful as promised. I make it with the two flavors they picked and the design they agreed on. And finally the day of Penny’s birthday arrives. I’m actually a bit nervous about it. I haven’t heard from Dean, Nick, or Cal, not that I’m complaining. Life has been kind of normal, which is strange. I need to shower and get ready for the party. I turn on the water and step inside. My mind wonders to Angelo. I wonder if he’s found anything out about my mother or the locket? The only thing I’ve heard from him was when he arrived back home. It hasn’t been that long, but I’m feeling antsy about it.
