Valerie is tired after the wedding day, and her nerves are shattered. The pretending to be a happy couple with her rude boss is no child's play. If only she knew what she was getting herself into. She knows he is still in love with Lea, but it does not bother her. She needs to survive these two years with him without killing him in the process. He is so arrogant and cold. She thinks where his heart is supposed to be, there is just a piece of ice.
Charlie is sitting in the jet on the opposite side of his bride. He has his laptop open and is working. This honeymoon s**t is just stealing some of his valuable time, and he can not wait for it to be over with. A whole week alone with this woman he married is not sounding like heaven on earth to him, she is not a pushover as he thought she was, and he does not know how to handle her sometimes. The island is not far, only a few hours of flying, and has a landing strip. Only a few people were staying on the island, and his friend ensured they would have everything they needed. Charlie looks up and sees Valerie has fallen asleep. They are still dressed in wedding clothes, and he is feeling uncomfortable. He takes off the tie and jacket.
Soon they land, and he wakes Valerie up. For a moment, she does not know where she is. Then everything comes back to her. So they have landed on the island. All of a sudden, Valerie does not feel so brave anymore. She will become his wife in the full sense in a while. She thinks of the story that her mother and Isabella told her, how she and Charlie's father Paul got married because their parents made them, and, ironically, she and Charlie are almost in the same position. They do not love each other and get married for all the wrong reasons. She is not happy about it, but she promises to pay Charlie back every dime she takes from him. She just needed money to start her hotel. It is a lifelong dream of hers. She has studied hard and taken odd jobs while studying to pay for her school. She did not want to be a burden on her mother and father. They paid for her brother's studies, and although her mother is an attorney, she only works for the poor to help them.
Charlie walks in front of her, there is a car waiting for them, and Valerie struggles to keep up. She hates this dress and high heels shoes she had to wear. Charlie does not wait for her. There is nobody he needs to pretend in front of. She reaches the car and gets in. The landscape is taking her breath away. Although it is dark, it looks beautiful in the moonlight. Soon they stop in front of a house, it is big and comfortable. She walks up the stairs to the front door. Charlie has unlocked it, and he is already inside. The servant takes their suitcases up the stairs to the bedroom.
"Thank you," Valerie thanks the servant, and he smiles warmly at her. Usually, the rich who come here do not even see him, and he is treated like furniture. Valerie goes upstairs, she needs to get rid of this awful dress, and these shoes are killing her feet. As she gets upstairs, she looks at the big bedroom that fills the whole second floor. She walks to the glass door and opens it. A cool sea breeze comes in, and she can see the ocean from the little balcony. She turns to look for the bathroom. She takes out the suitcase that was packed for her by her mother and Isabella. She is red in the face when she sees the things they packed. Wow, the items are made for a real bride, not a fake bride like her. What the hell will Charlie think if he sees the sexy pajamas that the two older women packed for her, she can not sleep in that, and the robe is not helping much either it will not cover everything. She is happy when she sees robes in the bathroom that will cover most of her upper body. It will only leave her legs open. She struggles to get out of the dress. She has no idea where Charlie is, and she can care less.
"Need some help?" She hears his voice behind her. She turns around and glares at him.
"No, I will be fine," She says and waits for him to leave so she can get undressed and get into a shower. At least she has the damn high heel shoes off that were killing her feet. Charlie is just leaning against the door of the bathroom like he is not going to leave.
"Can I have a bit of privacy?" Valerie asks, irritated. Charlie is tall and sexy, she must admit it.
"Oh, come on, Valerie, I am your husband, no need to be modest near me," Charlie says, looking at her and smiling coldly. Why will a woman like her be so modest? He is sure she learned from the best how to catch a man. Her mother must have taught her that, at least, and she tries to seduce him by looking at the clothes she packed. Valerie sees he is looking at the clothes in her suitcase.
"I did not pack my clothes. Your mother and my mother did that." She doesn't know why she is trying to explain to him. It is not like it matters to her what he thinks of her. Charlie looks at her, not saying anything.
"Let me help you out of that dress," He says
"I said I will be fine, now please leave!"
Charlie ignores Valerie and walks over her undo the zipper at the back. Then he starts undressing her. She is so mad she wants to slap him, but he grabs her hand and starts kissing her. He pins her to the wall and removes the dress. It falls at her feet, and she stands there looking at him in shock. He is not doing this, is he? She lifts her hand to slap Charlie, but he grabs it and pins both her hand above her head against the wall, she wants to kick him, but her feet are tangled in her dress that is still lying at her feet. She feels so helpless and wants to scream out of frustration. Why is she enjoying this man's kiss so much?
"He let go of her and walked out of the bathroom smiling. She sighs in relief and quickly gets undressed and into the shower. But as soon as she is in the shower, she hears the door open again, and Charlie walks in, getting in the shower with her.
"What are you doing?"
"Taking a shower with my new bride," He says. He is naked and pressing against her. He looks at her body, and Charlie must admit Valerie has a body to die for. He starts kissing her again. He wants her so bad.
He picks her up and presses her back against the wall. Valerie is in panic mode and does not know what to do. It is her first time. She does not know what to do. She feels a bit scared.
"Please, Charlie, be gentle with me ..." Before she can finish her sentence, she feels him entering her. Charlie freezes as he feels the resistance. She is a virgin. He looks down and sees the blood. He stands still, not moving to give her time to get used to him.
"You are a virgin." He says, but damn she is so tight he can not let her go, but he knows he has to if she does not want this. Valerie feels the pain, but after a while, the pain stops, and she looks at him. She wants him as bad as he wants her. Charlie wants to pull out of her, but she holds him where he is with her legs.
"Oh, no, Charlie Stevens, you started this, you will end it, it is my first time, and I do not only want to remember the pain," Valerie says. Charlie moves slowly in her he does not want to hurt her more than he already has. Instead, he wants her to feel pleasure. She is so tight he is not sure how long he can last, but luckily for him, it is her first time, so she comes fast and sends him over the edge with her.
"Damn, you are so tight, it is hard to control to hold back. Dammit, Valerie, why didn't you tell me you were a virgin." Charlie says.
"Would you have believed me?" She asks, and Charlie has nothing to say to that, he feels he has just lost another round to Valerie Stevens, but he knows he has gained a lot of respect for this little wife of his. Maybe she is not like her mother after all. Charlie is upset with himself. He would have asked her first, but as she said, would he have believed her? They quickly wash. They can not be this close to each other. She just experienced hell and heaven in one. She does not want to stay so close to him. Charlie feels like he has won the jackpot, and he does not know why. Is it because his little wife was the first virgin he ever had? She is his and his alone. He can not let another man see her body. He was her first.
"f**k Charlie Stevens, get a hold of yourself," He thinks to himself. She is the daughter of the woman you hate, and you go all possessive over her.
He looks at her as she is really in a dilemma when she looks at the clothes the two old ladies packed for her, he smiles and he knows now she was talking the truth, she did not pick those clothes herself as she has no experience in s*x at all. So she picks one that is covering most of her body, but he grabs it out of her hand and hands her the sexiest one he can get.
"Charles Stevens! Give me back the other one!" But Charlie laughs, and this time, his eyes are not cold as he looks at her jokingly.
"Nope. I like this one more." He walks out of the bathroom as his cellphone rings, but she grabs the robes hanging in the bathroom as well on her way out.
"Stevens," He answers his phone as he looks at his bride, that is trying to run past him to get into bed and under the covers. He grabs her around the waist and holds her. He wants a good look at her before she gets in bed.
"Charlie, please do not take that w***e as your wife tonight. She is no different than her mother. I bet she had a lot of men." But, then hears a drunk Lea's voice, Charlie does not even bother to answer her, and he hangs up. Switching off his phone, Lea is a friend, but she is the last one that can talk about being cheap and a w***e.
"Who was that? Isn't it business?" Valerie asks, hoping he will let her go. But, instead, she feels naked with Charlie looking at her like that.
"No, just a wrong number, " Charlie says.
"You switched off your phone. What if something comes up at work?" Valerie asks
"It can wait until we are back from our honeymoon. Right now, I just want to enjoy my new bride," He says, smiling.
"Really Charles Stevens, the workaholic is just going to take a few days off from work, just like that?" Valerie asks.
"Yes, I enjoy the view more, and it makes me tense and relaxed at the same time."
"Tensed?" She asks as he is only looking at her.
"Well, yes," He removes the towel around his waist, and she sees what he meant with tense.
"Oh," is all Valerie can get out.
Charlie and Valerie hardly slept that night, and when they fell asleep at last, the sun showed its head. Valerie lays awake a bit longer, feeling a bit sad. If only he loved her, she would be so happy right now.
"Wait! What? f**k, Valerie, you can not fall in love with this man. He is dangerous. He does not know what the word love means. He does not even have a heart remember? He has a piece of ice where his heart is supposed to be." She reminds herself and looks at the sleeping Charlie's face. Her heart has betrayed her, and she knows it. She knows that she fell in love with him a while ago when she was still working for him. Valerie feels like crying. Why did she fall in love with Charles Stevens of all men?
