Chapter Forty Jia stared at Erik, her nails digging into her arms. She took several deep breaths, not sure. Erik slipped into the driver’s seat. “Go home, Jia. This doesn’t have to concern you. I get that it’s not fair you don’t know everything, so I’m not going to ask for your help. I don’t know where this will end.” Jia shook her head and walked around the front of the MX 60 toward the passenger door. She opened it and slid into the seat. “You didn’t know the situation when you first arrived either, Erik. You could have listened to everyone else, but you trusted me enough to push forward on the investigation. For now, I’m willing to help because I know you’ll tell me when the time is right, and I’ll be there, too. Might as well get to that point together since it will save you time ex
