Joshua was a pretty fantastic human being. We’d been dating for more than two months, and every day I was privileged to see more of his kindhearted and generous nature. He was the type of selfless and giving person—with a healthy dose of genuine humility—that didn’t often exist in this world. I was so proud to know him, and I wanted everyone to know just how amazing he was. Joshua, however, wasn’t one to acknowledge what he did, let alone take credit for it. But tonight?
