Chapter 4 Judge Caltabiano had taken the day off. It was Friday, and since there were no trials scheduled and it wasn’t a motion day, he took the opportunity to go golfing. The brisk fall temperature wasn’t a deterrent; the judge would golf in any weather except snow. But just because my boss wasn’t in the office didn’t mean I didn’t have work to do. Normally, I enjoyed the days the judge wasn’t there. It meant I could draft opinions and get my research done without him constantly interrupting.
