The sound of the gun going off temporarily impaired Rey’s hearing. He could hear a ringing in his ears and he tried to shake it off. He quickly took a mental check of his body. He felt no severe pain to indicate he had been shot. His attention turned to Mack who was still under him. Both their hands were still on the gun, but no one made any real effort to take control of it. Rey was staring at Mack, looking out for any telling signs he had been shot. Somewhere at the back of his mind he hoped Mack had been shot, it would have brought the whole matter to a nice conclusion. Out of the corner of his eye, Rey saw a movement.
