*This chapter has several character changes.*
I woke up to the sound of beeping and the smell of a hospital. I opened my eyes and looked around and saw a man I have never seen before. He had long white hair and his ears pointed out of his hair. His eyes were emeralds like mine and the women from my dreams. "Hello, Emma." He said.
"Hi. Who are you?" I said back.
"You will know soon enough but you must remember." And he walked over to me and he began to glow. I tried to move away but could not move any further the guard rail on the bed was stopping me. He put his glowing hand on my head and I began to scream and my world went black.
-Kate's Point of View (Emma's Mom)
Today has been a rough day. We always knew Emma would c***k but I never expected like this. I was cooking breakfast when she came down and flipped out. If it wasn't for Levi my husband sitting at the table she would have hit her head on the counter when she passed out.
We could not get her to wake up so we ended up calling ems and while they were evaluating her she woke up and became violent. They had to restrain her and then she passed out again. She has yet to regain consciousness.
Levi and I are currently talking to the doctor and her therapist outside her room when we heard an ear-piercing scream. My heart dropped and I ran into the room. She was looking at the wall and holding onto the side bed rail like it was her lifeline. All of a sudden her body began to shake and her eyes became glossy. The doctor ran over to her with a nurse following behind him. I looked at the therapist and said "What is wrong with her Tara?"
"I'm not sure but I honestly believe her memories are coming forward."
"How will we know?" I asked. My husband grabbed my hand trying to comfort me. I looked at him and gave him a small smile.
"Let's see what Doctor Parker has to say and we can go from there." and I nodded my head. We all watched the doctor and nurse begin to work on her.
Twenty minutes later the doctor walked over to where we were standing. "I am going to have an MRI and EEG of her brain done. I think she had a seizure. We will get those tests done in a few minutes."
"Thank you, doctor. What could have caused this?" Levi asked.
"If I had my guess her memories are surfacing and her brain is on overdrive. We won't know until we see what is happening and when she wakes if she has her memories."
"So we just wait?" I asked.
"Yes." And he walked out of the room.
"Kate, Levi I will help as much as I can. This might take a while. I will check in in a bit and see how everything is going. You both have my number and if anything happens or you have questions don't hesitate to call."
"Thank you, Tara," I said and walked over to Emma's bed. I grabbed a chair and sat down. Levi came and sat down next to me. "I never thought we would end up like this."
"What do you mean Kate."
"I knew when adopted her that she had memory issues and one day she might get her memories back but I never thought this would happen." He put his hand on my thigh.
"We will get through this. She is special."
"That she is and regardless she is still my princess."
It has been three days and she has yet to wake up. They have tried multiple times to do the leg and MRI but the test malfunctions. They don't understand what is going on. They have called this in and the machines are fine. I'm starting to think it's Emma.
Her therapist has shown up several times in the last couple of days and keeps telling us to hang in there.
*Tara's Point of View (Emma's Therapist)
Today is the third day Emma has been out and her parents are looking rough. "Kate and Levi why don't you both go and get some food. Take a few minutes to yourself and I will sit with her." Tara said.
Kate was looking a little worried. "She is safe honey and Tara has our number. Let's go and enjoy a meal in the cafeteria. Thank you, Tara." Levi said and he grabbed Kate's hand and pulled her out of the room.
I sat down next to Emma and looked at her. I waited a few minutes and then said "Hello Emma." But she did not stir and I placed my hands on her head and closed my eyes. I was now in her head and Emma was standing in a room. "Hello, Emma."
She looked straight at me "Tara?"
"How are you?"
"I'm scared of what is out there." She said.
"Emma you must remember I need you to remember."
"How are you here?"
I smiled at her. "My name is not Tara but I am known as the moon goddess." She just looked at me. "You read about wolves right?"
"Yes, but those are just stories. Make-believe," she said. She was giving off a lot of different emotions.
"No honey they are all real and you my dear need to get past your fear and walk through that door. Your destiny is waiting for you and it is time for you to start your journey."
"What do you mean?"
"Emma you will never know unless you walk through that door and discover who you are. Your choices are staying in this room until you die or walk through that door and discover who you are."
"But"
I shook my head no and said "There are no buts here. You have two choices. Stay here in this room or walk through that door face your past. I will be waiting for your decision." And I left. I was in the hospital room and smiled as her parents walked in.
"Did you two have a nice lunch?"
"Yes thank you. Did anything change while we were gone?" Kate asked.
"No Kate but I have a feeling she will wake up soon." I got up and left.
