I sat up in my bed when I heard the screaming of women. I heard so much screaming and could see the flickering of light outside my room window. I removed the blanket from on top of me and got out of the bed. The floor was stone cold but I did not care. I walked to my window and saw buildings on fire and people running around. Some were screaming, some fighting, and others laying on the ground dead. Blood was everywhere.
A woman ran past my window with a creature dressed as a soldier following her. It was tall and red with scales all over its body and it had a long tail and horns. It grabbed the woman and tore her in half. I watched as it threw the women's body and roared in victory. I gasped and quickly moved from the window and ran straight under my bed. I was afraid it heard me and soon my fears became reality.
I heard the door burst down and then running of people past my room. Screaming and things were being thrown and all of a sudden it stopped. I held my breath as I heard heavy footsteps nearing my room but then an ear-piercing roar filled the air. The footsteps were fading away and then I heard nothing. No screaming, no running, and no fighting, and I began to lightly cry.
I woke up and noticed it was daylight. I listened and I could not hear anything. I was still too afraid to move. What if the monsters were still out there. I was too scared to move. So I just laid there. My stomach growled and I had to pee but the thought of that woman being torn in half was enough to keep me under my bed. I felt safe.
My room went from bright to pitch black and I fell back to sleep. I dreamt of the lady who the monster killed and I woke up screaming. I went to sit up and felt my head hit the bed. I slowly got out from under the bed and quickly went to the chamber pot and peed. I knew I needed to see what happened but my bladder was about to burst so I peed.
I walked up to my wooden door and slowly opened it. What if that monster out there. As the door slowly opened I saw blood splatters on the wall and I stepped back. Whose blood is that?
My heart was racing and I could feel the quick breaths I was taking. I shut my eyes, to a big breath of air, and began the count. Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one and I let out the breath I was holding. "I can do this," I whispered and walked out of the room.
I slowly walked down the hallway and the closer I got to the front room the more blood I saw. I felt my body began to shake with fear. I walked into the room and there laid two bodies and I felt tears pool in my eyes.
"Emma wakes up." I heard someone shouting my name and shaking me. I opened my eyes and looked into my mother's face. "Shhhh honey it's ok." She said as she embraced me in a hug and I began to cry.
"I know them, mom. I know them."
"Who baby?"
"The dead bodies. I know them but it hurts so much. I love them." I said as I cried harder.
"It will come to you baby. It will when the time is right." She said as she kissed my head. "I'll grab your notebook you need to write this down." She got up and grabbed my journal and pen from my black desk and brought it over to me.
"Thanks, mom," I said as I was wiping the tears from my face.
"Write baby. One day it will all become clear to you." And I gave her a small smile as she left the room and I began to write.
I spent the next half hour writing and as I got to the part about the two bodies laying on the floor I began to cry again. Who are they and what do they mean to me? I sat there and thought about it but nothing came up. I just kept crying.
Once the tears stopped coming I felt mentally and physically drained but my alarm clock went off causing me to jump in my seat. It was six-thirty in the morning and I had to get ready for school. I got up from the chair and headed into the bathroom. I turned the shower on and waited for it to heat up before going in and once it was the perfect temperature I got in. It took me fifteen minutes to shower, brush my teeth and get dressed. I do not go out of my way to get all dolled up because when I do men tend to faint. I am dead serious. So now I just throw my hair in a ponytail and then I wear jeans and a shirt. I call it the basic look but it doesn't matter what I wear men tend to hit on me all the time. It is so weird.
I walk out of my room and begin to head downstairs. Everything seems fine but the hallway leading to the kitchen had blood all over it. It looks just like the hallway from my dream. Are the monsters here? I slowly make my way down the hallway and at the end of the room. There laid two bodies, the same bodies I always see. They are laying in a pool of blood and there is no movement. I walked closer to them. I felt tears streaming down my face and as I got closer I noticed them. There was a man with dark brown hair and pale skin and laying next to him was a woman with strawberry blond hair and pointy ears. I couldn't keep my eyes off of the women she looked just like me. "Mom" I whispered and her eyes opened. She had emerald green eyes just like mine.
"Remember." She said and then my world went dark.
