Stuart could tell that Eddie was taking everything in, just as she always did before making a conclusion. She no sooner got the words out of her mouth and she turned her head so he couldn't see the expression on her face. But he could hear the sadness in her voice.
Stuart lowered his voice and said, "Look at me." Eddie turned to face him and he put an envelope on her lap.
