I spent the rest of the week settling into my new place and starting the new hire paperwork at the hospital. Xavier came by every day to “check in” and make sure the “house was working out.” The more time we spent around each other, the more I liked him. It’s like he was consuming all my thoughts and my dreams. It was odd, but I chalked it up to junior high-level infatuation and just rolled with it. After our steamy make out session at the restaurant, I tried to cool things down a little. I was having a constant battle in my head about inviting him to spend the night, and I wasn’t quite sure what was holding me back, but I had a gut feeling that Xavier was hiding something from me, and I didn’t like it.
