26. KILLIAN I sat on the armchair that faced the main room door. The doctor had said that she might act childishly when she awoke. He said that I needed to exercise a lot of patience with her but I did not think she was acting childishly. She was been truthful about her feelings. She was not hiding anything any longer. I deserved it all and I was ready to take it even if it hurt. Yes, my heart was breaking with every hateful words she was throwing at me. I did not know how long I could stand the bruises.
