"I'm fine, Mom," I interrupted her, knowing exactly what she wanted me to say. Deep down, though, I felt a slight feverishness coursing through me. Perhaps it was from my first time having s*x, or maybe it was the lingering effects of the head injury I sustained from Victoria.
"What are you talking about? How can you say you're fine when your head is injured?" Mom questioned, her brow furrowing with concern.
What could I possibly tell her? This pain I feel is indescribable. It's like a storm raging inside me, all because of Alpha Alex. I can't comprehend how he makes me feel so utterly worthless and insignificant.
"It's just Victoria being her usual self, Mom. Don't take it to heart. We both know how she is," I tried to reassure her, my voice trembling slightly.
