I could hear the rapid pounding of my heart. "Little Mouse, long time no see," he said, his words sending shockwaves through my entire body. It felt as if a thunderbolt had struck me, leaving me tingling all over.
"Al...ex..." I whispered, my voice barely audible as he removed his hand from my trembling lips. I stood there, paralyzed with fear, my mind racing with a million thoughts.
"Little Mouse, did you miss me?" he whispered, his voice so close to my ear that I could feel his warm breath igniting every cell in my body. The darkness enveloped me, yet I could still sense his presence, as if I could see his face clearly.
