You just sit here and tell me whatever you're feeling," Alex asked, as the car stopped in front of the small drinks shop. "A cold coffee. I would love to have it," I replied, my eyes and nose still burning from earlier. I really would love that cold coffee. He nodded and got out of the car, heading towards the shop. I watched his back, pondering on how his mother had hurt him. But the way he vowed never to hurt me like she did, or to be a better version of himself, spoke volumes. I could sense his pain, which made me aware of his vulnerability. And I'm grateful that he's willing to be vulnerable with me; it's not just me anymore.
