I glanced at him, his eyes fixed on the road as he drove, but the sadness in his expression was unmistakable.
I had blamed him for everything before, but now I couldn't deny that it wasn't entirely his fault. Some things were simply meant to happen, beyond anyone's control.
Neither he nor I could change the situation, so perhaps it was best not to delve too deeply into things. What good would it do? It would only complicate my already complicated life.
