Chapter ThreeWhen the children stopped singing, the girl came from the organ and went over to the children to say,
“That was very good, boys and girls. Come again tomorrow at the same time.”
The children jumped up, eager to leave the Church.
They trooped past the Duke standing just inside the door and barely noticed him.
When they had gone, he walked slowly up the aisle to where the girl was tidying away the Hymn Books.
As he reached her, she looked up in surprise.
He thought that close to she was even lovelier than she had appeared from a distance.
