Miara woke up early in the morning, showered, and ready for the busy day ahead, she walked into her little cosy kitchen and looked into her refrigerator she couldn't stop her smile, her entire kitchen was stocked up with various types of food items, she had her breakfast and took the elevator to go directly to the parking lot and drove her Audi R8 to her office. She parked her car and happily stroll into the building smiling at all the employees, everyone smiled back at her but some turned to talk among themselves, she passed Neha on the way. "Ms. Ahuja, where were you? Ms. Miles was going crazy trying to find you" she rambled on as they walked to her cabin, Neha follows her to her office and helps her arrange things all while babbling about her terrible day with Lisa. Miara stops her when she started touching things that didn't need changes, "ok, stop touching my stuff this is in perfect order as it is, don't misplace anything," Neha looked around her and found nothing that was aligned, everything was thrown over, and lots of things were on the floor. Neha stood there speechless, how the hell was this in order? she thought to herself but didn't voice her opinion. Lisa walked into the room and looked at her frozen assistant. She pats her on the back "Just leave it, she is organized in the most disorganized way," Neha excused herself from the mess, Lisa watched Miara for a second and shook her head in disbelief, "I can't believe you are wearing sweatpants, sweatshirt, and sneakers to work," he mumbled Miara looked at herself and shrugged " My work defines me not my clothes," she commented working on her computer while wearing her glasses. "You are right, but clothes help you when it comes to dignity, people take you seriously when they see you inexpensive clothes," she replied in a duh tone. "You think people don't respect me?" she glanced at Lisa with raised eyebrows daring her to continue. "You should have attended the meeting, Miara, if you miss the next meeting I'm afraid they will kick you out for rebelling against them," she said sitting down on one of the chairs opposite to her. Miara stopped typing on her laptop and gave Lisa her complete attention "They can't kick me out, Lisa I'm their main asset, and like I said I own the company," Lisa rolled her eyes at her "You need to watch some news because even though you own the God damn company they will find ways to get rid of you, one way or another," she said arrogantly. Miara waved her off "Time will tell, now leave me alone, don't you have a job or something?" Miara went back to her work and Lisa huffing in annoyance, Maira looked at the closed door and sighed, not liking how things weren't working out in her favor. She hated it when people got too comfortable with her, they get too arrogant and talk s**t about her. That's when she assigned loads of work to Lisa so she would mind her own business. She left when the clock hit seven pm, she had someone very important to meet. Giddy with the good feeling she gathered all the gifts she packed for them and walked towards her car, she drove to the Delhi university hospital and parked her car in their parking lot. She went up to the reception and asked " Have you seen Aloo... Sorry, Dr. Kabir Ahluwalia, " the girls at the counter looked at each other before searching on their computer. "Dr. Ahluwalia is still in surgery, please wait in the waiting area he will be there shortly," she gestured towards the waiting area in the ER ward. She smiled at them and went to sit in one of the available chairs, she pulled out her phone and browse through it while waiting for him. Half an hour later the Doctor came running to the ER waiting area. She smiled at him and ran to him jumping in his arms. "Oh, God! Your so heavy," he groaned in pain but didn't let go. He hugged her tighter hold her legs around his waist. All the people in the area watched them shocked, no one knew how deep their friendship ran, but to them, they were a pair of a girl and a boy, and the sight of them hugging in public so intimately was hardly digestive. But the people who knew them well knew that this is how they normally behave around each other. "Shut up, " she replied putting all her weight on him. He put her down in a less gentle way, gasping for air "God, you need to lose weight, how much do you weigh? a hundred?" He asked jokingly holding his back dramatically. She rolled her eyes at him and kicked his shin, the fake pain turned real and this time the ouch that came out of his mouth was real. "Stop abusing me, " he pushed her playfully and looked around himself, he smiled awkwardly looking at the crowd that stared at them weirdly. He grabbed her arm and pulled her to his office, closing the door behind them. "How was your trip? Did you have fun?" He asked her taking off his doctor coat and changing to his jacket. Miara shrugged "It was ok, was cut short though," she said jumping on his sofa sitting on it as she owned it. "Next time inform people around you if you are planning on ghosting them. do you have any idea how many times Lisa called me?" He asked her sitting next to her. "I don't know, ten?" she said pulling out the bag she was carrying not interested in his choice of topic "Close, she called me twenty-five times, I was in surgery and wasn't able to see it sooner, she is scary when she is pissed," he shivered in fright just thinking about it. "Well, you shouldn't have dated her in the first place, " she smiled sarcastically at him, he glared at her "It was one date, she was very persuasive," he sighed dramatically closing his eyes reliving the horrible past. Kabir Ahluwalia is six feet tall with fair skin, dark brown hair, and black eyes. He has a dimple on his right cheek. Miara chuckled imagining Lisa's face turned red with anger and smoke coming out of her ears, "It's all done and dealt with, forget about it, and look what I got for you," she pulled out an item from the bag. His face lit up when she mentioned a gift but his expression changed when he saw the thing in her hand. He took it in his hand and looked at her with disbelief "Got me a key chain, a miniature Eiffel tower," the irritation in his voice made her burst out laughing. She rolled on her stomach when she saw how disappointed he looked with her gift. "Hey, it's limited edition, alright" then laughed some more. He shook his head at her childishness and laughed with her at how silly the prank was. After calming down she pulled out the whole bag and placed it on the table. "I got you this as well," he hesitated to open it because this was Miara we were talking about, she is the most unpredictable person he has ever met. The gifts inside the bag were all branded ones, the shirts, sneakers, a leather jacket, and all different kinds of perfumes which were one of their kind. Especially the perfume, they were personalized scents that took ages to decide. He smiled at her and side hugged her in gratitude, "Thank you, you know you didn't have to get me so many things, one would have sufficed," she shrugged her shoulder not caring. Suddenly she stood up from her seat and pulled him off his seat, pulling him out of his office "Let's go eat I'm starving, " she dragged him out, he sighed following behind her. They talked a lot on the way to a small diner near the hospital where there was some decent enough food. The interaction between them was scrutinized by a lot of people, some judged them for being too open about their relationship and some envied them for not having that much courage to be that affectionate with their partners.
