William had never before seen a dog so dejected after being put on a leash. He had to wonder if Anthony had ever put Mate on a leash before, based on the amount of sulking the big fluffball was doing.
“Now, Mate, it’s not that bad. I even got it in green to match your eyes.”
William watched as the morose animal lifted his head up from the backseat and glared at William in the rear-view mirror before slumping down again, pure abjection written all over his face.
He did look good in the green collar and leash though.
“It’s just for appearances while we’re in town. I’ll take it off as soon as we get home.”
