William had never before seen a dog so dejected after being put on a leash.  He had to wonder if Anthony had ever put Mate on a leash before, based on the amount of sulking the big fluffball was doing. “Now, Mate, it’s not that bad.  I even got it in green to match your eyes.” William watched as the morose animal lifted his head up from the backseat and glared at William in the rear-view mirror before slumping down again, pure abjection written all over his face.
