Mason- Rogue
“You just left? Left her there standing all by herself.” Aden didn’t even try to keep the accusation from his voice. He was disappointed with me but then that wasn’t anything new. I seemed to disappoint him a lot recently.
“I told her I wasn’t the meeting parents type.” I gave a shrug and I knew how lame I sounded. Like a petulant child. But hey what did Aden expect? I hadn’t wanted to go and meet the delectable Daisy Malone. I had saved her because it was the right thing to do and I wasn’t a total asshole but I hadn’t wanted anything to do with her.
And I definitely didn’t want to find out how sweet and intelligent she was or how her skin smelt of vanilla and her hair oranges.
Or how god damn bitable her bottom lip was and how I could almost taste it on my tongue already.
If I was acting like this now it was all Aden’s fault. I had said no more mate talk after Livvie . And he had dropped Daisy Malone in front of me.
“That’s more your thing.” I added with a chuckle and for a second his frown shifted. “All the parents love you.”
“I don’t think Daisy’s do.” Aden’s sounded put out. And I could understand why. He wanted to be liked , it was one of his flaws in my opinion. But at the same time one of the reasons I loved him.
“Well they are fools then because you pretty damn awesome.” I touched his chest, letting my fingers spread across his wet skin.
“I have to be awesome to put up with your miserable ass.” His own hand slid around my waist. “I want you to give Daisy Malone a chance Rogue. Promise me.”
I stiffened. What he was asking was impossible. I couldn’t. No I wouldn’t risk my heart or my sanity over a woman. Not even one as beautiful and tantalising as Daisy. But I didn’t say any of that. Instead I leant into him. “Whilst we’re here , fine. She’s an interesting girl.” I admitted “but that’s it. I don’t promise anything else,”
Aden’s face clouded. “She’s our mate, she belongs with us.”
“So you say but I’m not one hundred percent certain on that…” I was actually certain she was but I couldn’t admit it to him just yet. Hell I could barely admit it to myself. “But I’m willing to be open minded.”
“Thank you.” He pressed his lips to mine and I wrapped him in my arms. Forcing his lips apart and thrusting my tongue into his mouth. His met mine, tangling and our breath mingled.
He was my mate, my second. If getting closer to a pretty human for a few weeks would make him happy then so be it. I would do it for him.
“Daisy’s back.” I said against his mouth without pulling away and I felt Aden smile against my lips. “You said she would.”
I chuckled . Yeah I had. As soon as I had seen her watching us kissing earlier, with her own arm linked with the douche that had almost killed her by throwing her into the ocean when she couldn’t swim, I had known it wasn’t going to be the last time we saw her tonight.
Sure she had been embarrassed to catch us in an intimate embrace but there had been something else in her eyes .
She was curious about us. And most probably a little confused. She felt the pull the same as I did. We did. I corrected myself. But she wouldn’t know why she was feeling it. At least in that aspect I had the advantage .
That’s all the advantage I had though because as much as I told myself I didn’t want her, I knew deep down it was a lie. And I had a feeling Aden was already ready to lay the mark on her and claim her as ours. Something I had to stop him from doing at all costs.
I couldn’t… no I wouldn’t let another woman rip us apart. I had almost lost him when Olivia had chosen the Beast. I couldn’t let the same happen with Daisy. No matter how tempting she was or how her skin smelt like orange blossoms.
Or how her pouty bottom lip just begged to be bitten and sucked.
It couldn’t happen.
“What can I say, I am always right.” I gave a very fake modest shrug. And he laughed as he pulled out of my arms, his hand sliding down to squeeze mine. “How do you want to play this?” He asked quietly. And I realised with a start that it might already be to late for him.
In answer I stepped forward. “Hey Daisy.” I waved with my free hand and watched as her eyes grew wide. She blushed so red that I could see her colour deepening even in the
Moon light.
She was adorable.
“Hi Mason, I’m sorry I didn’t mean to interrupt.”
“You’re not, do you want to join us.”
Aden called from behind my shoulder and the hope was clear in his voice . Not that I blamed him. I wanted her between us as well. The sooner we bedded her , the sooner Aden would get her out of his system.
She paused , her eyes turning this way and that on the empty beach and I could almost hear her arguing with herself. And then she gave a small shrug and the dress she wore slipped from her shoulders to pool at the floor.
Arms crossed about her chest she stepped into the waves in nothing but her underwear. Stopping only when she was waist deep. “I’m not a very good swimmer.” She admitted and I stepped towards her without thinking. My hand reaching for hers to tug her towards us gently. “You don’t need to be a good anything with us Daisy.” I let my hand touch her hip under the cool water. A gentle brushing of my finger tips and she shivered as if she was cold.
Aden stepped up to her other side and his voice was husky. “Because we got you always.”
