Christian’s POV
“Abbie!” My father’s voice called out into the dark woods. Mom and Averie stayed inside to keep up appearances, but I followed my dad outside to make sure he didn’t chase after her.
“She is fine, Dad. Just give her some time.” I tried to convince him, but it was difficult. “We need to get back in there and talk to people. After what Axel did, the last thing we need to do is run off. It will just make us look like scared little pups.”
He looked at me with a surprised expression, and honestly, I felt it too. Since when was I the one to give pep talks about Alpha business? I chalked it up to wanting to see Axel still suffering after his rejection, but deep down I knew it was because I knew my dad was right about these kinds of things.
