"It's great to be out of the pack house with you. Coffee was such a fantastic idea," I remarked to Gloria, grateful for the opportunity to spend some alone time together.
Our mates always tried to get us all to themselves, so Gloria and I left the pack house to avoid interruptions. And I loved having coffee in the morning.
"I know, it's crazy how much I already miss Jack. I've missed our alone time, too, Ava. It's been almost a week now. Are you excited to be marked by Ace?" Gloria asked, gently touching the spot where Jack had marked her.
I couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy, wishing Ace had marked me too.
"Yes! I must admit, I'm a bit jealous that you and Jack marked each other first!" I responded with a giggle, taking a sip of my coffee.
