Violet and Brian were still being confined to the rooms on the second floor. One of the guards delivered their food for them twice a day and updated them on the progress. This wasn't looking good, but Violet's hope was restored that afternoon when she ran into one of the guards in the hall as she was walking back over to Brian's room from the room across the hall where her clothes were being kept.
