Chapter 38

811 Words

[Mary’s POV] My uncle wasn’t lying when he told me what was going to happen. But one thing he left out was how he would handle it. I thought I would be able to sneak over to their house, but he even made sure I was watched 24/7, as I was given some kind of bodyguard to follow me around, whenever I was trying to leave the house. He gave me one call to make sure that neither Stephanie nor Kris would come to the house again, but I didn’t know who I should call because it would hurt, regardless of who I didn’t get to talk to anymore. But eventually, I chose to call Kris. This bodyguard named Jamie, was standing there like he owned the place, making sure to hear everything I was going to say. I wasn’t even allowed to use my own phone, and it had to be on speaker the whole time. I hated it.
