ALTHEA
"Althea, I need you on my floor immediately. Please finish whatever you are doing and get up here as soon as possible," the Alpha says via mind link.
I furrow my brow, but head out of mine and Penny's rooms. Penny showed me her room before we were mates, and while it is a decent sized room, if you are a couple living in the Castle you automatically get upgraded to a set of rooms, so where you would have a studio flat set up if you were single; which would be a bedroom, living room, small kitchenette in one room, with a small dressing area and an en-suite, we had a lot more space together. When you opened the door to our rooms you automatically enter a large living room with a kitchenette at the back. You then walk through a doorway to a large closet and dressing room, with one door opening out onto a luxurious en-suite. The last door takes you through to the bedroom, which, while not as big as the studio apartment set up Penny originally had, was still impressive in its size. I absolutely loved our own mini apartment within the castle, and you could decorate how you wanted, as long as you changed it back to how it was if you ever left your rooms.
Mine and Penny's new permissions finally registered on the system, so I was able to get up to the Alphas floor without needing someone to let me in. As Penny was now training to be a doctor she would get automatic access to any of the floors above the ground in the castle, as she might be needed in any of the rooms, just in case there is ever an emergency. As I worked in the hospital, and as I had offered to help the Luna help control her powers, if she needed it, I was granted the same access.
I headed over to the elevators, pressing the button to call it down. It pinged open swiftly and I entered it, hitting the button for the top floor. Penny was working in the hospital currently, so I was free all day, I just hoped nothing was wrong.
Once the elevator pinged open on the top floor I called out, not knowing where the Alpha was. "Alpha? I'm here, where do you need me?"
I see the Alpha, frazzled, stick her head around the corner of corridor ahead, "This way!" before disappearing again.
I take off on a run to catch up with her, following her swiftly into her own bedroom, where I see the Luna passed out on their bed.
"What do you need?" I ask, confusion lacing my voice.
"Sol, she's passed out," the Alpha replies. "She was... teleporting... between my office and here." I look at her in shock, but the Alpha shakes her head. "I am as shocked as you are, believe me. Sol thinks this may be her power manifesting... But this is the first time she has done it deliberately."
"She's done it before?!" I ask.
"Maybe, on her first Pack run. That's not important. Can you help her? Do you think she's going to wake up again?" The panic is evident in the Alphas voice, and I have to bite the inside of my cheek to keep from smiling.
"She will be fine," I say with a reassuring smile. "How many times did she teleport?" I ask, walking over to her to check her temperature with my hand.
"Four times in maybe five minutes?"
"And the distance she travelled each time?"
"maybe twenty feet the first time, and then just under one hundred feet each way for the last three times."
"No wonder she's exhausted," I say softly. "When your powers manifest initially, it wears you out so quickly when you first start playing about with them. When I got mine, even levitating a candle could wear me out. If her powers are anything like mine, their strength will increase rapidly. She may also start to manifest other powers, do don't be surprised if that happens, wolves with powers generally get at least two different abilities. If she is meant to be rarer than I am, she could end up with more."
The Alphas eye bulge out of her sockets when I tell her this, and I laugh at her expression. "If she is as powerful as her aura leads me to believe, when all of her powers manifest she's going to be a force to be reckoned with. Now my Pack were well versed in Opal Wolves, we knew what we were dealing with. Do you have any idea where you can get more information about the type of wolf she is going to turn into?"
"We need to go back to her Pack, her original Pack. If there is any information to find, it will be there," the Alpha replies.
"I suggest you do it soon, Alpha. More powers are going to start manifesting, and it's going to happen quickly."
"Thank you, we will. Also, please don't call me Alpha if we are alone or with other ranked members, Ama will do." Ama replies, smiling at me.
"Thank you, Ama. Make sure you have chocolate and an energy drink on hand when she wakes up, which should be pretty soon. If she does want help learning how to control her powers, I will do what I can. Even if our powers are different, the basics will remain the same."
"I'll let her know," Ama replies with a smile. "Thank you again." A large white kitten pads into the bedroom, jumping up next to Sol and settling down beside her. "I'll go and get the chocolate and energy drink now, if you want I'll walk back to the escalators with you."
I incline my head, and we walk out of the bedroom together. "Oh, before I forget Ama. Last night I sensed an incredibly dark aura, hate and vitriol was pouring out of it. I didn't see the person it belonged to... it passed by incredibly quickly, when we were all eating dinner. I don't know who it is, but I think they are going to be trouble."
Ama looks down at me, eyes wide. "Thank you for the heads up, Althea. I'll look into it, see if we have any Pack Members that are upset or angry about anything."
I nod again as we reach the elevator. "I'll see you at dinner, Ama. Thanks again, for everything. I love being a part of this Pack."
"You definitely feel like a good fit," Ama says with a smile. "See you later."
Ama walks back, heading into the kitchen, as the elevator pings open. I enter, hitting the button, as the elevator starts to descend to my floor.
I really hope that this person with the weird aura would be found, quickly, but something told me it wasn't going to be that easy.
