Chapter 4
As Vic headed down the hallway to the bedroom, Matt took Sadie into their small galley kitchen. Well, more accurately, she took him, staying close to his heels and nudging his legs if she thought he looked like he might decide to join Vic in the bedroom before feeding her. At one point she circled around him so he couldn’t go anywhere but the kitchen. When he heard the bathroom door close and glanced down the hall, Sadie gave a short, sharp bark as if to say, Hey! Eyes on me!
“Alright, alright,” Matt muttered.
