After school, which Sky finished at the same time as Augusta, they resumed their conversation. Sky said that she was going to a party that evening, a birthday party for a friend. She invited Augusta to accompany her, assuring her that she should be welcome. Ordinarily Augusta would have spent the next couple of hours wondering what to wear. Since so far she possessed only a single tunic, she had no choices to make, but she resolved to get more clothes soon. While all the women wore the same basic costume, she noticed that there were subtle variations. Some women embroidered their tunics, some dyed them pretty colours, and some appeared to be made out of different materials, though what was available on the island was very limited.
