Chapter 1
A ripple of energy washed over me, calling for me to leave the darkness that was my haven. I resisted, wanting to remain in blissful oblivion. The energy wave grew stronger, battering my senses, flooding every inch of my body. My skin tingled, the hairs on my arms reacting to the current coursing through me.
An image appeared in the darkness, a beautiful young woman with expressive indigo eyes and long, dark blonde hair. A single word accompanied her image, singing in the air around her.
Angel.
Her name echoed inside my head, getting louder and louder.
It stopped suddenly, the current of energy vanishing with it. My vision cleared, no longer cloaked by darkness, consciousness returning.
