Staring at her mother and brother, Becca shook her head, still fighting her fraught emotions, as they took over from the pure anger she was experiencing. It was a battle she was never going to win, as the lump in her throat almost choked her. “Why Mam? Why is life so cruel?” Becca began to sob, hot tears streaming down her eyes. “I know Becca, I know,” Chloe sighed, then gathered her daughter in her arms and held her close, running her hand down her back, and whispering soothing sounds in her ear.
