Nine “I’m glad to hear you and Gideon and Liam are going to dinner at your brother’s,” Andra remarked. “Guess that means you’re not still avoiding the poor man.” Erin winced as she dropped her order pad on the counter with the rest and slipped her pen into the cup beside it. She didn’t like avoiding Gideon, and she hadn’t set out to do it intentionally. Their ride home from Mendocino had been pleasant enough, like he hadn’t kissed her and she hadn’t jerked away from him. But she hadn’t seen much of him since they’d gotten home at almost three in the morning on Thursday. He and Liam had lazed around the cottage that morning, and then she’d worked the evening shift at the Salty Dog. And she’d taken double shifts the last two days with the excuse that she wanted to make up her lost wages.
