Aesport Town

Just as the first corps successfully finishes the operation cobra. They immediately build airbase, oil fields, radio and communication equipment, and the like. Now this operation was neither introduced in the latest chapter so let me have to do the reporting.

Operation Cobra is an operation conducted by the first corps to create a forward operating base near the Incredal Kingdom. The joints chiefs presented this operation to lessen the logistic cost of delivering supplies such as oil, spare parts, foods, and munitions to the troops participating in the war. Despite the ongoing war, the engineers who also participated in a hurriedly created military base. Before arriving at the said location. In the war room where the troops are being briefed by their commanding officer, the engineers have already plotted, planned out all the necessary means to build the military base to prevent loss of time just for thinking the design and framework on the spot.

Arriving at the Aesport port remnants of gunpowder released on artillery pieces were still drifting in the air. What was once a peaceful town suddenly turned into battlefields. Ash and craters gouging on the cobblestone roads can be seen anywhere. AH-64 Apache helicopters were still dancing and hovering in the air in search of combatants. Battle tanks such as the M1A2C Abram tanks roam the streets, those who saw the roaming beast on the street looking on their window felt fear and hides in the corner of their houses. It was a ghost town no soul was seen on the street the soldiers thought that they are hiding in their houses cowering in fear. But who wouldn't be? Seeing the deadly performance of the modern instrument of war that is beyond their imagination would simply and easily eradicates all the stationed troops in their town. Three hours later the First Corps successfully captured the Aesport town and began refurbishing, reconstructing, and constructing a military base. The proposed plan was to create an oil field, airfields, setting up radio and communication equipment such as radio towers and radar equipment.

Since they just captured the town, they set up their tent just outside the Aesport Town. Their all commanding officer were gathered to report their findings and investigation.

Lieutenant General John Wayde is skimming through a pile of battle reports that made him slouch on his seat.

"What a pain, why can't we just simply report that we one-sidedly defeated 50,000 troops? This is a hassle instead of wasting time doing paperwork we must take this opportunity since the enemy has no such intel or messenger to report that their 50,000 troops were all killed in action." John said to himself while reading the contents of individual reports.

Suddenly an officer wearing his combat uniform entered his office.

"Sir, the president wants to talk to you."

John without hesitation eagerly stood up to his seat and went to their operation center. Since they brought computer equipment and communication it was easy for the Command Ops to contact them if they are needed immediately.

In the temporary operation center, Army staffers, computer technician, radio and communication technician, as well as commanding officers, were all present in the operation center. Some officers were laying out a battle plan on the corner using the empty table while some non-combatant personnel were assisting and were still in the middle of installation.

He approached the 18-inch television placed on the wall. It looks like from the movies where television was adjacently and topped to each other. He saw the president figure on the TV screen and immediately saluted.

"Lieutenant I heard that you've retaken the Aesport Town. Congratulations"

And then applause was created in the command ops praising the works and achievements of the Lieutenant General and since this is their first battle this memory will memorable.

"Thank you, Mr. President," The general let out a marvelous smile.

"Now let us cut into the chase. Report to me all necessary and important facts of information that you have." And then the atmosphere becomes serious.

"First of all, capturing the Aesport Town, if I may be straightforward, is easy Mr. President no damages were incurred on us. Since they only use swords, arrows, and spears they are useless against us nor do they have a chance to use it in their battle. Also, you issued a kill order wherein the enemy combatants must be eradicated even if they are powerless and have used ancient warfare. We must use deadly force. We are still in the middle of an investigation to know if they are civilians harmed in the battle. But do not worry Mr. President most of our artillery was guided and will only hit what we mark. Those villages and houses that we assume have civilians on them were not fired upon. I'll report the data after we got all the data we needed."

"That's good General, now then you know what to do right?"

"Yes sir. In light of creating a friendship with the locals, we will do it right away. It is now under construction."

"I'm glad then continue on your job General"

"Yes sir," John saluted which Thomas did the same. "First Corps out!" The transmission ended between the two.

What was Thomas pertaining about is the creation of houses, water supply, and food-sufficient town. Since it has been six months and all his cabinet members were probably drafting their budget proposal. And it's only six months away from their first year in this world. He called the secretary of Housing and Urban Development to conduct a joint operation to make his goal to achieve within three weeks or in a month. The HUD secretary sends engineers and construction workers to the hostile territory with the support of the Congress in which Thomas uses an eloquent statement that they will protect the workers participating in the said project. Of course, this is pivotal for gaining their trust. Thomas does not want his country to be branded as war-criminals.

Back on the Aesport Town.

M1128 Stryker an Infantry Fighting Vehicle is roaming on the street with a commander on top carrying a megaphone were transmitting messages to the hidden civilians in their houses.

"This is the United States of Harthom Army. We would like your cooperation to leave your houses in search of Incredal troops who were hiding within. Do not worry we will not harm non-combatants and those troops who will surrender. We have now captured the Aesport Town and our generous government will help you rebuild your town during and after this war." It was repeated and again giving messages to all of the corners of the town.

In the assurance of their government some civilians started to leave on their houses some are still doubtful and still on their house. Soldiers who are roaming and patrolling on the streets started to guide them to the processing location where they will write their names, age, occupation, for creating their I.D this will help the Harthomian to sort them up. Some civilians were getting on the HMMWV and M939 trucks. Those who were witnessing on their window were astounded and bewildered. The invading troops are not harming the surrendered civilians, seeing the actions they immediately do the same.

After four hours they processed more than three thousand civilians and John after receiving the report immediately reported it to Thomas.

The reports contain the demography of the town. In the total of 3,000 67% were male and 33% are women. 20% of those are ranging from 8-19 years old. Most of them specialized in agriculture and forestry.

After speaking to the president John faced his colleagues and said.

"Now that we processed all of them, civilians, we must give humanitarian aid do we have an adequate supply of food that can last for a month?"

"Yes sir! We have 100% of food sufficiency until two months. Of course, they are included as well. After we built our airfields then hundreds of C-17 and C-130 will be weekly supplying us with foods and supply." The army staffer said looking at her document on her file.

"Okay, what is our completion date?"

"Military base and houses will be done in a month. They need to create drainage, sewage, and water system in town to prevent diseases. We will temporarily be built portable toilets and baths for our army and the civilians of the Aesport. Thanks to the help of HUD the project that will take a year will be done in a month."

"That's good keep it coming my if you need something then I am just located ten footsteps away on your post."

"Yes, sir!" They all saluted.

Soldiers of the Harthom are distributing food to the civilians. It was pocketed in Styrofoam food containers. That includes two pieces of toasted bread, rice, beef stew, and a small pocket of ice cream for desserts. Also, they are given two bottled water each. If they need more, they can just ask for it.

In a temporary cafeteria where long tables can be seen crowded with civilians are all eating at a fast pace that they have never eaten for a week. Seeing the remarks on their face it is obvious that they love the food.

"This food is delicious! I can eat this all day!"

"Yeah, it's flavorful and surpasses the best restaurant in the capital!"

"The bread is soft! I thought it would be hard to bite since I've always eating hard bread!"

When all of them are eating from their heart contents. They felt a heartfelt bliss that is some can be seen their tears falling on their eyes. They never thought, wished, or dreamed that they will be able to eat this kind of food in their life. They felt thankful to the soldiers who were helping them cleaning their finished plate. Earlier a seminar was conducted to help them knew the proper etiquette of eating such as how to use a spoon and fork, where to throw their finished utensils after eating. washing their hand's et cetera. Also, they provided a hygiene kit to all of them. Since the bath and toilets were all under construction they are temporarily washing and bathing to the water truck which is their temporary supply of water.

They never felt this care before, and the question is starting to arise. Why is the enemy is providing them food and shelter? not only they are given hygiene kits they are also given blankets and fresh clothes. Their sleeping quarters will be outside on the Aesport town. Because huge construction machinery is on the job of flattening and destroying houses to renovate it. They were given the time to retrieve their important belongings from their houses. Unbeknownst to them, this is predominantly planned by the government of Harthom which is why most of their needs are provided in an instant.

The soldiers who were roaming the decayed woods and feces on the streets hit them in the face, which the surrounding air was a dump and oppressive, causing them to feel uncomfortable. How can they leave in such vulnerable places where different kinds of diseases may fall upon them?

This was an insight made by Thomas who knew history. He expected this. But in a month where an Aesport town is full of s**t will be transported in the future where s**t is not remnants in the streets.
