Artillery Fire

Inside the tent were generals and officers were gathered creating plans and strategies to counter the offensive of Harthom. General Louis Alced is the commander in charge. He is an old man with a long ashen beard, a masculine warrior with a sword s***h mark on his right eye. Due to his battle experience and prowess. Prince Timothy assigned him to lead the army to bring victory and glory to their kingdom but as an old man whose mind and body were deteriorating he declined the offer at first but the King and the prince begs him to take command because no replacement is good enough. He took the offer. Not because he was offered money. Is it because the country needs him?

Looking at the parchment map he placed 20,000 troops in the Loma wilderness where will he expect the Harthom's army to pass. The troop's morale is high due to General Louis being their commander however he felt something wrong in this battle. According to the information gathered by the ambassador of the Incredal Kingdom who foresees the demonstration of the military power of Harthom. They can launch an attack over a long distance. They can fire on what he called rifle at long distance. Such power makes him trembled slightly on his seat. He also recalled the attack on Hermes where the Harthom uses long-distance magic capable of destructing roads, buildings, and a plethora of troops in one go. General Louis and his adjutant fell on their backs after receiving a blow from the impact. They stood up quickly and looked towards the source of the explosion. Just as he looked in the direction of where the explosion took off. He suddenly knew that it was the position of his 20,000 troops marching through the night.

He trembled and shivered he never witnessed such power before. Although he was warned and informed about the capabilities of the Harthom he never expected that it will be so much power. While in awe he saw a ball of lights leaving a white smoke on its trail moves towards their location. At high speed, he had never had a chance to see it clearly, but his eyes follow its trails. Base on the trajectory of the ball of light it is coming towards the trebuchet and the artillery bow. in the bastion. Since the explosion occurred just 50 meters away, he was thrown back by the shockwave that was created as an ear-splitting sound that resonates through the town. All the houses that contain glass immediately shattered. The locals were woken up by the loud explosion. They all felt fear and nervousness. Unbeknownst to them, they were under attack by the Apache helicopter.

"General this is Hunter 1. Commencing suppression fire towards their defensive armaments."

"Hunter one I copy. Destroy all fortification, their army, and trebuchet."

The first wave of helicopters consisting of 50 AH-64 Helicopters rained their missiles towards the marching troops and to the town that was being controlled by the Incredal army. Each helicopter fired four AGM-114 Hellfire in a total of 200 missiles are headed to the Aesport town.

General Louis was still lying on the ground along with his adjutant. He can hear people crying and shouting. He loses consciousness for a minute his vision was blurry. But he can saw the silhouette of fire billowing from their command’s tents and to their artillery. Some time passes he completely regains his vision and witnesses the locals running like an ant and the troops who survived. They are moving at their instinct now afraid to die at the unknown. He can hear the clattering noise coming towards him and saw two soldiers running into him.

"General the troops are compromised! all of the troops that we sent to the Loma plains were killed by the explosion!" The soldier cannot help but shout due to the loud noise occurring in the town.

"Whaaaaat?! How did you know?"

"We assumed it sir the enemy is using explosive magic! Our army is deserting at their position as we speak!"

"General what should we do? Their power is out of this world!"

"We fight to the end! We will do this for our country! If you want to leave now, then that is your choice. I will not blame you for that. We don't know what kind of magic they are using but that is not enough to trample my pride and love for the country!"

"General!" His adjutant said exasperatedly.

"Don't worry I'll return after I killed those monsters"

A thundering explosion occurred again at the southern gate of the Aesport town they can now clearly see what attacked them.

"What is that? It’s made of steel!"

"How is something heavy can fly?"

The Apache fired one of its armaments the 30 mm M230E1 Chain Gun capable of firing at the company-sized Incredal troops who are brandishing their swords, bows, spear, and shields. General Louis witnessed his soldiers slaughtered by the lights of the flying steel. In less than a minute’s hundreds of Incredal army perished.

He looked at the ground and saw the corpse of his troops riddled with holes. Their blood painted the soil. He glances at the flying steel his eyes were shaking.

"This...is...the....power.... of... Harthom? A power that denies honor and pride. HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

The general let out a loud laugh that caught the attention of the Apache helicopter. Turned to its right and the noise of the helicopter now faced towards him.

"Monster! Unforgivable! I'll kill you all!" General Louis brandished his swords and run towards the helicopter. He leaped at the edge and get a hold of the helicopter. General Louis is now aboard outside the helicopter hanging on the landing skids. He tried to stand on it. While holding his swords he tried to pierce it with his swords, however.

"It didn't pierce. What kind of glass is this?"

Suddenly the apache swerved violently trying to remove him on the skid. Due to the movement of the helicopter, he falls off on it.

"Argh!!!"

"f*****g barbarians," The pilot said.

"He fell off! Find him and don't let him escape!"

The apache opened its FLIR images and looked for the swordsman who leaped to them.

After 15 minutes of the attack, all the Incredal troops positioned in the Aesport town are dead some are missing. Due to the intense firepower projected by the company-sized Apaches the area surrounded by the Aesport town had been scorched, turning it into the battlefield, the meadow had gouges due to the continuous bombardment.

Both inside and outside the Aesport town large mountains of Incredal army corpses were stacked, as the smell of death and gunpowder wafted in the air.

Several Incredal troops desperately ran towards the Incredal Kingdom to save their lives. Little did they know that they are not completely safe. In response to that number five carrier strikes group are on their way to meet their adversary. The first naval war between the two countries is about to begin.
