Will struck gold with the re-interview. One of the witnesses was a teenager who'd been camping with his family. During the first interview, he hadn't said much. But this time, Will interviewed him where he worked, at one of the loading docks on the waterfront. Away from his family, the kid talked much more. He remembered jogging past a man wearing a t-shirt from a private local gym called Heavenly Hardbodies. Finally, a break. Afterwards, driving through the waterfront, Will spotted the borderline offensive sign for the Rootin' Rooster. The one time he'd come out here to investigate a drunk and disorderly call, he'd noticed that the burgers didn't look half bad. And he was hungry. It was a forty-five-minute drive back home—might as well get some food in his stomach first. He swung into t
