Chapter 19Guy and Monty arrived at Cairns Airport jetlagged after their long flight. Guy had used the flying time to read up on Cook’s exploits particularly his actions on hitting what was now called the Endeavour Reef. The explorer fascinated him as a leader of men, someone who had set off around the world with no guarantee of returning. To be able to convince hard boiled sailors to risk their lives in such a situation took an amazing feat of leadership. To Guy’s delight the police had tracked Rose to the Port Douglas area and Monty’s enquiries had revealed the name of a businessman who was suspected of holding her captive; he wondered why he would do so. The police had also recorded Jochi, Stefan and Lorna entering the country under assumed names.
