Chapter two- Alpha Gabriel's POV

1134 Words
We rushed out the door, running at full speed hoping beyond hope we got to Elijah in time. He had helped us with rouges countless times in the past until we grew into the pack we are today. Elijah's pack use to be one of the strongest packs in the country, but word quickly spread that he had a child and had grown passive, lenient and weak. I never believed it, never wanted to believe it. Elijah has been notorious tof being ruthless, unmerciful, and unforgiving. No rouges that stepped on his land had been allowed to live, and knowing him having a child would make him want his pack to be that much more capable of protecting the child.  I never thought he would adopt a child though, and a girl at that. Never in our history had a female been born of an Alpha. We always had boys, we needed boys, that way there would always be someone to take the place as Alpha when it was time for us to step down.  As we made our way into Elijah's pack we were met with chaos and bloodshed. Bodies littered the ground. Men, women and children alike. It made me wonder how Willow had managed to escape to get help. Continuing through the pack lands it became more and more apparent that none had lived or been able to escape the m******e. That is until we got to the pack house. People were running back and forth gathering medical supplies. The people were covered in blood, cuts and gashes were visible all over their bodies. "What happened here?" I asked as I walked up to a man I assumed to be the beta. "We were attacked. Massive amounts of rouges, we didn't stand a chance against them. They killed my mate, my children. The Alpha is fatally wounded, We have nothing left. Even the Alpha's child is gone. " He told me. His voice was lifeless.  "No, his child is at my pack house. She was told to run until she reached another Alpha to get help. Somehow she made her way across other pack boarders without being detected until she reached me." I assured him. The beta's eyes widened as I saw relief wash over them. "Where is the Elijah?" The man pointed me towards where the wounded were lay.  Once I found Elijah I sat beside him and grasped his hand in mine. "How are you doing old friend?" I asked in a low voice. Elijah opened his eyes and smiled weakly. "It's been a long time." He rasped out. "I've been better. My time here is coming to an end, I just need to know my daughter made it out safe." He whispered as a lone tear made its way down his cheek.  "Don't worry, she made her way to me. That is how we are here now. She is safe, she is with my luna and son right now." I told him reassuringly. Elijah's eyes brightened slightly. "Gabriel, please take care of her. Raise her, train her hard. She must be strong, resilient, and unwavering. This is very important. She is my natural born daughter, which we both know has never happened not once in our history. She is meant for great things which none of us could fathom. Please, promise me you'll do this last request."  I was stunned. I had assumed she had been adopted, but I had been sorely mistaken. This girl, this child was and could be either a curse or a blessing. A female Alpha has never been heard of, never even been conceivable until now. "I promise you Elijah, I will take care of your daughter and raise her as if she were my own." I vowed, fully intending to do just that. Elijah sighed with relief as he let his body drop back onto the small cot he had been laid on. "Please tell her that I love her, and that I am sorry I had to leave her at such a tender age." I nodded my head sadly as I watched Elijah's eyes close and he took his last breath. heartbroken and sorrow filled howls rang loudly around us. The Silver pack had just lost it's Alpha and the pack all but destroyed. I stood stiffly to my feet as I once again approached the beta. "Beta, it is on you to take over this pack. The Alpha's child is with me and I vowed to Elijah I would raise and care for his child. Upon the child's 18th birthday I will return the child to this pack to take over as the true and rightful alpha.Until then I will leave one of my warriors here to help train whatever warriors you have left and whatever new ones may come." My tone left no room for argument. "Thank you Alpha, I will do as you say as we await the return of our young alpha."  With that I gathered my men and we left. Quickly making our way back through the forest home. I still could not wrap my head around the fact that Willow was a natural born alpha, or what that could possibly mean. Would she be as powerful? And fast? As strong? Would she be more powerful than a male alpha? I could already tell her dominance was already more than my own sons, what's worse is that she noticed and had seemed appalled disgusted even that my son was so timid and weak. To be honest I was embarrassed at my sons lack of dominance, his lack of authority. As the son of an alpha he should be strong willed, dominant, superior. But he was none of those things, the only thing I could do was hope he would grow out of the stage he is in now, if not then he would not be worthy of the title of alpha. As much as it pains me to say that I and everyone knew it to be true, there was no way the pack would accept him as their alpha. If by some twist of fate he grew up the same as he is now and he managed to take over the pack he would be challenged right away and have the pack taken from him, I couldn't let that happen.  When we finally got back home I was dreading what I would have to tell Willow and how she would react. As I said before a female alpha was unheard of, so her reactions, her emotions were unpredictable. As an alpha all our emotions are heightened, even more so than a regular werewolf. The only thing I could do was handle whatever outcome would come. And do my best to raise the girl how Elijah wants.
