Chapter 11

1055 Words

Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, we are left scrambling to prepare for Christmas. James and I took the kids to get our Christmas trees from the local tree farm yesterday, as is our family tradition, and the kids wrote their Christmas lists to Santa with Kira on Saturday. Tonight is our family tradition of having the kids make an ornament for the tree. Each year we make one then hang it on the tree with the others; I started with Kenzie on her first Christmas and have continued ever since. They love seeing all the ornaments they have made through the years, and I enjoy hearing the memories that we made with each one.           “Are you excited to get your cast-off?” I ask Kenzie as we drive to the doctor’s office. “They say when a cast comes off, the part inside looks funny.”
