Nina's POV
A psychology major visiting sites where history was made years ago is very interesting. How interesting must it have been to be able to be alive throughout this whole thing? There is also this folktale around this area that there is this great wolf that lives here and devours people since he's been alive for decades and has not found someone to mate with. Folktales are also interesting which comes with actual history itself.
"Nina!" Sarah calls out from behind me.
Sarah has been my best friend since high school, and I am very happy that we are in the same course and same college together. She is very smart, and she is at the top of the class... however, she can be a potty mouth as well. I love her.
"Hey, Sarah." I said I turned to her.
"Where have you been it's time to go! Dan's been feeling down, he wants to drink tonight. Are you up for it?" she said with a huge smile.
"Sure I am, you know that there's no drinking session that I would say no to. You know me better than that, hun." I teased.
The day went by quite slower than I had anticipated it to be, maybe it was because I was looking forward to drinking with my friends. Dan is also a friend of mine who I met just as I started college. As crazy as it is, the three of us just clicked almost immediately.
The moment we were released from school, we headed straight to the bar we frequented at. We ordered our usual beers and Dan started drinking quietly.
"Dan? What's up? You've been quiet all day. What's been bothering you?" I frowned as I gently nudged his sides.
"My girlfriend cheated on me." he says with tears in his eyes.
Just as I was about to say something, Sarah yells.
"THAT b***h WAS TWO TIMING YOU?" she yells right in my ear.
"Can you not shout it out to the world, Sarah?" he groans.
"To be honest, I'm not that surprised she cheated on you. We already told you not to date her." I sighed as I took a sip of my beer.
"Well, she wasn't such a horrible person. I just don't get why..." he says crying and unable to finish his sentence.
"Why are you crying?" Sarah asks.
"It's okay, just think of it as bad luck and move on." I said.
"But I miss her! I really do miss her!" he cried.
Sarah and I simply drank and ate our chickens as our friend cries in front of us. Don't judge us for acting this way, Dan just tends to get into a relationship almost all the time and this has become a normal thing for us.
We both jumped as Dan slams his glass on the table with his tear-stained face and snot running down his nose.
"Gina that b***h! I hope she poops her pants! And that her pillow will be hot! I hope she drops all her makeup and breaks her favorite eyeshadow!" Dan exclaims as he slams his hand on the table per sentence, gaining us a few looks from the other people around us.
Dan was quiet for a few minutes and I saw him reaching for his phone.
"What do you think you're doing?" I glare at him.
"Take it! He's going to call her!" Sarah says.
"Give it to me!" I demanded.
Not even waiting for a response, I grabbed his phone and shoved it in my pocket.
"Trust me, calling her is the last thing you want to do!" I groaned.
Dan made an ugly crying face as tears continually streamed down his cheeks. Sarah and I just decided to distract his attention from his ex, and we started drinking and eating more. We all got drunk up until Sarah exclaims that she has to help out one of our classmates study.
"Do you really have to go?" I frowned.
"Of course I do. Are you guys coming with me?" she asks.
"NOPE! I will be drinking the night away to numb away the pain of my broken heart!" Dan says as he grabs another bottle.
I sighed and looked at Sarah.
"You can go ahead. I'll keep this i***t company." I say.
"He's already more drunk than you are. Will you two be okay?" Sarah asks.
"Of course, we will. This has happened way too many times in the past already that this isn't really anything that's new to either of us." I sighed.
"If you say so. Give me a call when you two make it back safe okay? Or text me. Whichever.' Sarah says.
"Sure, you go. You're going to be late." I said as I stood up.
"Love you." she says as she kisses my cheek.
"Love you too." I hugged her.
I sat back down and looked at Dan. What am I supposed to do with him? This happens to every single girl he decides to date. I grabbed another bottle and chugged it down. AHHHHH! That hits the spot. Dan was already resting his head on his arms.
"Dan?" I gently called out.
He only responded to me with a groan.
"Let's go. Come on." I urged.
I gave him about an hour to rest and decided to just drag his ass. I was already drunk at this point and me carrying another drunk person on my back isn't really helping the situation. After a few minutes of walking and I felt Dan squirm.
He let go of his grip on me and fell to the ground. I groaned in annoyance.
"Dan, come on man." I kneeled to his level and attempted to get him up.
He shrugged me off, so I just stood up. Later he stood up as well.
"I think I need to go vomit." he mutters.
"Not here, Dan. Let's at least look for a nice and hidden bush where you could throw up." I said.
Dan gagged and covered his mouth. He started running and I ran after him. Unfortunately, he didn't make it to the bush, he made it to a nice looking sports car and threw up on the seat. My eyes widened and at the corner of my eye, I saw a guy in a suit and it was at that moment I knew... We messed up.
