Jace's POV
I can't believe that Damien had actually asked me to watch his mate. He didn't even disclose what was going on or why he was doing this. Don't I have the right to know what's threatening his mate's life? She is going to be our queen and it will always be an honor and duty for any of us to be able to be trusted enough to watch her. I headed to his house the following morning for the whole meet and greet.
I was greeted by a short, brunette, and blue eyed female who was clinging on to Damien. She wasn't mated to him and yet she already has Damien's scent all over her. She seemed to be both scared and shy to meet me. Do I look that intimidating?
"Hi, I'm Nina. I'll be in your care for a while. I hope this isn't too much trouble." her voice barely comes out as a whisper.
