I trudged back out to the main road, then followed Esja"s directions, turning south and continuing on around the next hill. That hill was a low but wide mound, and the road swerved far to the east to get around it. It wasn"t a short walk. I had a lot of time to think, but my thoughts just ran in circles. Báfurr loved Nefja. Nefja loved Roarr. But Roarr loved only Lisa. Was Bera just fond of Roarr, or was she in love as well? Did she do more than watch everything that happened in the mead hall and carry her little grudges? She had seemed so quiet, but once I had gotten her talking, the words had just gushed out of her, and a lot of them had been heated.
