She can't believe this. Why did she agree to this? And why did she tell Jade about this? Seriously what did she expect?
Jade is crazy to put it mildly. She has a crazy mind when it comes to people and love. And she's already stressing Anna out.
"But trust me..."
"J please don't make me kill you. Aaron won't be there. And even if he is it'll be ridiculous if I show up dressed and prom ready. Let me be." Anna said adjusting her two sizes bigger jumper. It is not unflattering okay. She loved to swim in her clothes.
It was her signature look and besides if Ariana Grande can rock the baggy clothes look even she can. Her purple lilac jumper was not at all pale to Ariana's one. Yeah maybe because even this one was from Givenchy.
"You look homeless though." Jade sighed and packed her books in the bag.
Anna gasped. Her streak for drama would get her into trouble but eh not this day so it's alright.
"Jade Agha I can't believe this is what you think of me. I'm hurt" Anna held her head high and made a inhuman noise while wiping the imaginary tears.
To be honest she was actually a bit hurt. Tiny bit. She loved this jumper, it was her favourite. And she did think that it looked cosy after she paired it with black ripped skinny jeans. And ankle boots.
"Ann seriously it's not even winter." Jade muttered after she zipped her bag. It was like Anna didn't want to try.
Anna had a huge wardrobe. When she's saying huge. It's literally huge. Her half room is occupied by that sleek brown wooden wardrobe shipped from Italy. She had so many designer clothes that it was shame she didn't wear them. Her mother always pesters her but she's a stubborn child.
"I am comfortable in these and besides it's Tylor. I don't want to impress him. I know what I am doing J" Anna exhaled like even uttering his name was a task.
"Omg it's like talking to a rock. Anyways I'll see you tomorrow. Bye." Jade stood up and Anna clenched her eyes and gritted her teeth hearing the screeching sound of the chair. It is so bloody irritating at times.
"J listen to me..." Anna called out as she was turning towards the door.
Hearing her name Jade turned her head to look at Anna. She was still standing there with her bottom lip in her mouth and her fingers nervously wringing together.
"Are you going back alone?" Anna asked in a soft tone.
"Hmm. Violet has her cheerleading practice. You are going to Tylor's. Obviously I'm going back alone" Jade shrugged.
She hated taking the bus. It was so loud and some kids annoy her. Mostly Brianna and Ashley, those evil witches. Just because they are true Jacksvillan, don't even know what the heck that means, they made it a mission to tease Jade about it. It was bullying at some extent. She so badly wanted to report them.
"Maybe I can drop you. Tylor's house is on the way." Anna proposed still wringing her fingers together.
She hated it when any of her friends are cross with her or even are on that way. Jade is sensitive but she short tempered as well. It's complicated. She's sure that Jade must be hurt by previous comment. It's not meant to be hurtful but it's Jade.
"Ann are you sure? I mean you don't have to. I can take the bus." Jade weakly protested. She didn't want to take the bus.
Anna knew that she hated taking bus. The kids were so annoying and they love to tease her. And she wants Jade to snap at them but she's a cupcake and apparently she would never.
"Oh shut up. It's only five minutes drive from there. Come on let's go." Anna smiled and dragged her out of the girls common room.
Jade didn't try to hide the smile this time.
"Only because you are adamant and won't take no."
"Yeah sure. We'll go with that." Anna snickered and they walked towards the parking and if while walking she tried to take peek at football ground to see Aaron no can blame her.
"So how do you feel about going to his house?" Jade asked once they settled inside the car and buckled their seat belts.
Anna sighed. Honestly she had mixed feelings.
"I just hope we don't murder each other. Staying in a confined space with him is definitely not on my bucket list."
"Something on many girl's bucket list." Jade giggled while adjusting the mirror.
"Our school girls don't have taste. I mean what do they even see in him? He's so infuriating, arrogant, cocky and know it all. Ugh I hate him so much." Anna frowned as she felt a wave of anger remembering the incident.
"You sure hold grudges Ann. Even though he's above all those things you have to admit that he's attractive." Jade said her voice muffled as she was removing her lip stick. Yeah her father would kill her if he finds make up on her face.
Anna thought about it for a while. She cannot deny that. She had to agree that. He was actually attractive. If he was not her enemy she would definitely be with him kinda attractive. Not only that he's funny and gets most of her references at times. With his dark brown hair and cerulean blue eyes and that roman nose and sharp jawline he was model attractive. Even that mole on his chin made him attractive. She shook her head. No it was a dangerous territory. To think your enemy is attractive. Nah.
"Maybe" She whispered while turning on the ignition. Suddenly a thought crossed her mind.
"Hey if Violet is practicing don't you think Tylor might have stayed back as well. I mean he's on team." Anna wondered.
"Nah he took permission from coach. I saw it. He's taking this seriously. Anyways did Principal send you the details?" Jade asked.
Anna got lost in the thought. Tylor missed his practice. That is so unlike him. Usually he would rub this in her face and make her wait and sometimes cancel their meeting without notice. She still remembers the first time he did that.
It was the second month of their senior year. And it was the first event that they had to organise and naturally Anna was being a good person, accommodating. She agreed to wait after school hours outside the parking so that they can discuss. But Tyler didn't show up. She waited for two hours and even called him few times but he did not respond. Finally after two hours he showed up in parking lot, with fresh clothes and clean, showered face. He looked so surprised to see her that it would have made a meme worthy photo. He laughed in her face when he found out that she waited back for him. He did not even apologise that he went to football practice and made her wait alone in the parking lot.
"Anna?" She hummed with her eyes still on the road. She did not even turn to look at Jade.
"Are you thinking something?" She asked in a soft voice.
"No. No it's not important. So how's your mystery man?" Anna asked in a light tone, managing to give her a enthusiastic smile.
Jade had a mystery man in her life and she was so secretive about him that it was ridiculous. She met him in a online debate group and according to her they instantly clicked. She talked to this mystery person regularly. And it was ridiculous how she's always busy with that guy, sometimes ditching their plans to talk to him.
Jade tensed. She suddenly felt like this was a bad idea. Going alone with Anna, that is. When it's three of them together it's so good because Violet always is ready to provide a sarcastic remark and the conversation drifts away from there but now she has to talk about it. She didn't want to.
She met this mystery person before the break started and she just couldn't get enough. It was four months now and they were still talking, sending random things and cracking at weird funny stuff. She enjoyed chatting and talking with the mystery person.
Jade cleared her throat, the itch was still there. She couldn't do this.
"It's fine. It's going well."
"That's great. He better treat you right or I'm kicking his ass." Anna said in a strict voice to which Jade giggled and before she could say anything they were standing near her apartment building.
"I'll tell that. Okay see you tomorrow. Love ya. Bye and please don't end up in jail." Anna nodded gravely.
"I'll try not to." Anna waved at her and drove towards his house. She just hoped that this would not go downhill.
***
Anna shifted on her legs standing before the huge door. She couldn't believe Violet was actually saying truth. This condo was so beautiful. It was a shame that Tylor lived in this.
Before she could chicken out she pressed the buzzer and waited for a while.
After a minute she could hear moments from inside and the door was pulled open and she was greeted by a beautiful younger woman.
"Yes?"
"I'm here to see Tylor. I'm Anna, his classmate." Anna smiled, her stomach felt weird for some reason. Nerves perhaps.
"Oh you are Anna. Please come inside." She moved away and gestured to follow her.
"I'm Gemma, Lola's babysitter. I'll just call Tylor. Can you wait in the living room? Please make yourself comfortable." Gemma gestured to the living room.
Anna gave her a smile and walked towards the living room. Before she could go and settle herself she collided with a small body.
"Ow I'm so sorry babe. I didn't see you there." Anna apologised bending down to her level. Her eyes widened looking at the tiny creature in front of her.
The girl looked like a mini version of Tylor. She was beautiful with blue eyes and her dark brown locks braided and her cheeks were stained with red paint. She gave her a toothy smile and shook her head.
"It's okey..."
"Aww you're so polite. What's your name pretty?" Anna asked.
"Lola" She giggled, pink dust on her cheeks. She was so tiny and cute that Anna wanted to pepper her cheeks with kisses.
"Goodness that's a beautiful name. Nice to meet you Lola. I'm Anna." Anna said while rubbing at her cheek.
"Are you a princess?" She asked in a excited voice, her eyes wide.
"Sadly no. But I'm sure you'll definitely be." Anna patted her cheek to which she giggled. She was such a giggly baby.
"I like you. You are very pretty and nice." Anna cooed. This definitely made her day.
"Thank you so much Lola."
"Lo? What are you doing there?" She heard Tylor's voice from beside her and stood up and looked at him.
"Ty I love her." Lola pouted.
And Anna was sure that she gets half of her things done by just pouting.
"Lo go to your room. Gemma is waiting for you. Anna and I have some things to work on. You can come back later." Tylor softly murmured walking towards them.
Anna was shocked to hear that tone. It was like he was completely different person here.
"Is she your princess?" Anna gasped at that.
"Lo. She's my friend. Now please go." Lola giggled and nodded.
"Tyty carry me" She poured standing in front of him. He bent down and carried her to which she happily giggled.
Anna looked at him surprised as he did not even flinch as she messed with his hair. She observed them as they climbed the stairs and disappeared.
She waited for Tylor to come back.
"Sorry about my sister. She's just three." Tylor mumbled embarrassed. Anna narrowed her eyes. Wow she never though he was capable of saying sorry. This was turning to be better than she expected.
He was softie. He was teasing her but instead he's a softie. It was ridiculous. But she actually found it sweet that he was so sweet and caring towards his sister.
"No. That's fine. She's very lovely." Anna complimented.
"Of course she is. After all she's my sister." Tylor smirked.
Ah there he is. The old Tylor. She sighed. She should have savoured it till it lasted. It was so good to see him like that. What? What was she thinking? She shook her head. Focus.
"Glad you're back. There's the man I hate. Now can we start the work?"
"Lead the way ma'am." He imitated a fake British accent.
This was going to be a long day.
