Chapter Four
Gabrielle was shown to a small desk in one corner of Penny Buckingham’s office. It was already stacked with college texts and notebooks. A mug of new pens and pencils sat to one side of the leather edged desk pad. The one saving grace in the formidable picture was a view through the window, outside to the stone path that led to Hunter’s house and then the ocean beyond. Summer’s last flowers were blooming merrily as though defying the cool night temperatures to ruin their blush.
After taking some instruction, Gabrielle browsed a few interesting books, while Penny went back to her own work. She was Robert Dante’s personal accountant, and stocks advisor.
